Where is the 2027 ODI Cricket World Cup?

South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia will host the next edition of the ODI World Cup in October and November 2027.

Since South Africa and Zimbabwe will be hosting the tournament, they will get a spot in the final tournament. While Namibia is a co-host too, they will not get an automatic place in the World Cup because they are not a full ICC member yet. They will have to qualify via a tough qualification process.

The 2027 ICC Cricket World Cup marks the 14th edition of this quadrennial One Day International (ODI) cricket tournament. Organized by the International Cricket Council (ICC), the event is scheduled to take place in South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia during October and November 2027.

2027 Cricket World Cup Qualification

In terms of qualification, South Africa and Zimbabwe, serving as co-hosts, automatically secure spots in the competition. Additionally, the top eight teams in the ICC ODI rankings will directly qualify. The remaining four positions will be determined through global qualifier tournaments. Notably, despite Namibia co-hosting the tournament for the first time, their participation is not guaranteed as they are not a full ICC member. Consequently, Namibia will have to follow the standard qualification pathway to earn a spot in the competition.

South Africa and Zimbabwe as co-hosts along with the top eight teams in the ICC ODI rankings as of 31 March 2027 will qualify directly for the competition, while the remaining four spots will be decided through global qualifier tournaments. Although Namibia will co-host the competition for the first time, they will not be guaranteed a spot because they are not a full ICC member, and as a result they will have to go through the standard qualification pathway.
